Apple iOS 16 May Come With New Ways To Interact With System And New Apple Apps: Report

Apple will this year launch the new iOS version, iOS 16. iOS 16 will be the successor to the current iOS 15. It will come with several new features and improvements. iOS 16 is expected to bring “major changes across the system” and some new Apple apps, as per a new report.

Gurman also mentions in the newsletter that iOS 16 will be going to introduce “new ways of interacting” with the iPhone. There are speculations that Apple will unveil iOS 16 during the WWDC 2022 event starting on June 6. Previous reports have suggested that iOS 16 could feature redesigned app icons, interactive widgets, a floating app window, and upgraded theme options. It is said to bring improvements to the camera app as well. Gurman has previously also stated that iOS 16 would bring significant improvements to the notifications and health tracking features.

iOS 16 will bring major improvements and a bunch of new features

Gurman says that iOS 16 will not bring many significant cosmetic changes. It will include new ways of interacting and some “fresh Apple apps.” There is also an expectation that Apple will bring some new widgets to iOS 16

Apple is going to reveal iOS 16 during the WWDC 2022 next month. This will be possibly going to roll out later this year, around the time the company launches the iPhone 14 series.

As for “fresh Apple apps,” Gurman may simply mean that Apple intends to update–or “refresh”–a number of the in-house apps. These apps include Safari, Messages, and so on. But that’s standard fare for an iOS update, and we’re optimistic that Gurman actually means Apple is going to launch entirely new apps, much as it launched Files in iOS 11, Measure in iOS 12, and translate in iOS 14.

Apple is also going to reveal watchOS 9 during the upcoming WWDC22 event

During the upcoming WWDC22 event, which kicks off on June 6, Apple is also going to reveal watchOS 9. In a recent report, Gurman suggested that Apple will introduce a new low-power mode with watchOS 9. This will support a few additional apps and features. The existing Power Reserve low-powered mode only allows Apple Watch models to depict the time. The Cupertino company is likely to also update several of the built-in watch faces that are currently available.

On Monday Apple released iOS 15.5, which brings the last major update for iOS 15. It brings some smaller new features and bug fixes and some clues as to what Apple is planning for iOS 16.
