Call of Duty brings new anti-cheat system makes legit players invisible to cheaters

Call of Duty is bringing a new anti-cheat feature within the game for the players to ensure fair play online. Cheaters are common in first-person shooters like Call of Duty. That’s why developers use all sorts of anti-cheat systems to clear out the players that find ways to abuse the game and ruin the experience for everyone else. The new feature works by cloaking the regular players from those using cheats or hacks, making them both invisible to them and invincible against their actions. The anti-cheat measure will be applied automatically to anyone using cheats within Call of Duty.

The new Call of Duty anti-cheat system

Ricochet releases the new anti-cheat security driver earlier this week. That means Call of Duty: Vanguard players will have to install the new anti-cheat system. It was available on Call of Duty: Warzone a couple of months ago. Some Call of Duty gamers posted videos online of the system, like the one seen below.

The feature is called Cloaking. With Cloaking, any player using a cheat within Call of Duty, as and when detected by the system, will be unable to see opposing players in the game world. The blog mentions that “characters, bullets, even sound from legitimate players will be undetectable to cheaters.”

The gamers who are playing fair will be able to see the cheaters, even when they are affected by cloaking. Hence, any legitimate player will be able to spot and shoot a cheater within the online game of Call of Duty: Vanguard. The Cloaking feature will thus work to minimize the impact of cheaters, regardless of any illicit software they use.

Cheaters continue to get banned

The purpose of cheating is to improve one’s stats and rise up the leaderboard. But the company says that it’s also working on cleaning those Call of Duty leaderboards. When a cheater gets banned, they’ll be removed from the leaderboards.

The Cloaking anti-cheat feature in Call of Duty titles will help the studio understand and analyze cheating behavior. But Ricochet will also continue to ban players caught cheating.
