Instagram revealed that it will remove videos with TikTok’s watermark from Reels.
Instagram is making changes in its algorithm and as per the latest modifications, Instagram will dismiss the videos having the TiikTok watermark. Actually, Instagram is looking for more original content on its platform and this move will help it to get original posts.
After the TikTok ban, Instagram launched Reels feature to help creators to upload their videos like TikTok. But still many users are creating videos using TikTok and posting those videos on both platforms. In fact, it hurt Instagram that users are not giving it a priority and using Instagram as a second option.
Instagram has said that they will be making changes to its algorithm in which if it obeserves a TikTok watermark in a video that users are uploading to Reels, it will not recommend that Reels video to users.
However, Instgram will not hide your video and your video will still visible in your profle and your followers also will notice it. But the video with TikTok watermark will not be shown in the Instagram Reels section.
In an emailed statement to The Verge, Instagram spokesperson Devi Narasimhan said, “We’re building on what we’ve learned from Explore to recommend fun and entertaining videos in places like the Reels tab, and personalize the experience. We are getting better at using ranking signals that help us predict whether people will find a reel entertaining and whether we should recommend it.”
Instagram also reveals that creators should also avoid posting videos that are low-resolution, have a border around the edges, or those where a large portion of the imagery is covered with text.
