ISRO announces free online course for students above 10 years – eligibility, how to apply and everything you need to know

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announces a free online course for students, named “Overview of Space Science and Technology”. The aim of the course is to provide information about various aspects of space science and technology.

The free online course is available for both Indian and foreign students and is being conducted by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) as part of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). Those who complete the course will also be awarded a certificate at the end of the program

All the candidates who register successfully can attend the online courses through any web browser. The candidates will have to enter the class through the online portal of IIRS Dehradun. The candidates will also have to option to attend the live workshop via the YouTube channel of IIRS.

Who can apply for the free online course from ISRO?

The online course from ISRO is available for both Indian and foreign students above the age of 10 years.

How to apply?

Aspiring candidates must note that the application window for all three courses is now open. Candidates who wish to apply can do so by visiting the official website of IIRS, iirs.gov.in, and filling out the registration form if they are eligible. The students will then receive credentials on their email, allowing them to attend the sessions.

Everything you need to know about the Course

The course will begin on June 6, 2022, and go on till July 5, 2022. It is a 10-hour course and students will be able to view the online videos in English. The course can be watched multiple times and a quiz will be conducted once the student has watched the videos. The online course will be conducted by eminent space scientists from the country.

According to the details mentioned on the web page, the participants who complete 70% of sessions of the course live via the e-class portal will get the certificate. The candidates attending the YouTube session will require to mark their attendance offline.
