Netflix now available on Tata Play: Here’s how subscribers can get access

Key Specifications:

  • Tata Play now offers Netflix through its Tata Binge+ service.
  • The user will have the option to choose Netflix’s basic, standard, and premium packages with the combo plan.
  • Users need a Tata Play Binge+ Smart set-top box to use the OTT service.

Tata Play recently introduces its Binge Combo Plans that now offer Netflix as well. The company is offering plans as part of its Tata Play Binge service where TV channels are clubbed together with access to OTT (over the top) apps such as Disney+Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, SonyLiv, Zee5, Voot, etc. The Binge Combo plans start at Rs 399 per month.

But, Netflix plans are separate from the earlier plans. Users will be able to access the OTT services via home screen and the remote proved with the set-top box. The user will have the option to choose Netflix’s basic, standard, and premium packages with the combo plan. Netflix says all the Netflix original content will be accessible to the subscribers. Users can pay for the plan directly through the Tata Play wallet.

DTH subscribers will get access to the service via 90 bundles. These bundles also include regular TV channels and Binge combo packs. However, the facility will only work through the Tata Play Binge+ Smart set-top box. Those on a regular set-top box will not be able to access Netflix

“Our partnership with Tata Play will make it easier for customers to subscribe to Netflix and enjoy high-quality video streaming around India. We look forward to entertaining more Indian entertainment fans with a wide variety of high-quality Netflix shows,” said APAC at Netflix.

The Binge+ Smart set-top box costs Rs 2,499. It comes with 1080p resolution, built-in Chromecast, and voice search Remote powered by Google Assistant. It has an option for Live TV through satellite or internet, along with access to 5000+ apps and games from Google Play Store.

It has 2GB RAM and 8GB storage and can record up to 25hours of programs with the Tata Play Record Plan.

The plan also offers OTT platforms like Disney+Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, Zee5, and ErosNow, but the user has to pay Rs 299 monthly to access them. In case the user has an existing subscription to the OTT service, they can simply log in and access it.
