There could be more Olympic gold in Ryan Lochte’s future.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the 36-year-old swimmer posted a photo of 3-year-old son Caiden, who rocked his dad’s Olympic hardware for Halloween.
“2036 Olympics here we come,” Lochte captioned the post. “You know he is going to be a good underwater kicker with those legs lol!”
Lochte shares Caiden and 1-year-old daughter Liv with wife Kayla Rae Reid, who also posted a photo of the future swimmer.
A 12-time medalist, Lochte is currently training for the 2021 games, having been delayed a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I started thinking more positive like, ‘You know what? I get an extra year of training. I get an extra year of getting smarter in and out of the pool,” Lochte recently told Travel & Leisure. “It’s grueling, but it’s going to be worth it in the end.”
Lochte, who recovered from appendicitis surgery over the summer, is looking to move beyond the global controversy of 2016.
During the summer games in Rio de Janeiro, Lochte and three of his Olympic teammates falsely claimed they had been robbed at gunpoint. As a result, he received a 10-month ban by the US Olympic Committee.
Lochte was also hit with a 14-month suspension by the US Anti-Doping Agency in 2018. That same year, he sought treatment for a “serious” addiction to alcohol.
