Social Media giant Twitter is introducing its tipping feature on Android gadgets that can enable customers to ship cash to the content material creators of their selection. It is not a brand new feature, the company introduces its Tip Jar performance for iOS gadgets earlier this 12 months.
Tip Jar functionality will let creators, journalists, and nonprofits monetize their tweets in the form of tips. Creators will be sharing links to their Bandcamp, Cash App, Patreon, Paypal, and Venmo accounts and in turn, will be able to receive tips from their followers.
The Social media giant notes read:
“With Tips, we’re creating an easy way to direct people to links to your payment profiles and we’re making it easier to support the people driving the conversation on Twitter – whether you want to support a content creator, help someone fundraise, tip someone who just needs some help or thank someone for making you laugh,”
Twitter is reportedly withdrawing support for Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) on both iOS and Android. Now, Users can add the Tips icon to their profile from the Edit Profile button. Although, currently, a limited group of creators, journalists, and nonprofits can receive them.
Users will be able to receive tips in the form f Bitcoin. The Tip Jar feature was introduced in May earlier this year and in September, it was released for all iOS users over the age of 18.
Twitter also mentions that it will now offer full-sized images on its platform. The update will get rid of the auto-cropping algorithm on its Android and iOS apps. It will allow users to view images in their entirety, on their timeline.
This means while posting images on the platform, users will be able to see an accurate preview of the same, without any formatting. The company describes the full-size preview window by stating “what you see is what you get”.
