Earlier this year, WABeta discovered a new WhatsApp feature called “quick replies to status updates. This will allow users to respond to status updates by using emojis. Thanks to the recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.16.10 update. It reveals that WhatsApp is finally working on adding the same feature to the Android app, the feature was discovered during the development of the WhatsApp Desktop beta.
WhatsApp will soon allow people to respond to status updates with emoji reactions on Android. This would allow users to share responses about a particular status update quickly using eight emojis without leaving any comments. This functionality is already available on WhatsApp’s sister firms Instagram and Messenger. The messaging platform is said to be rolling out the update via the Google Play Beta Programme, with the 2.22.16.10 beta for Android.
WhatsApp is working on Quick Reactions for Status Updates
WhatsApp is said to bring eight emojis to use as reactions. It includes a smiling face with heart eyes, a crying face, a person with folded hands, clapping hands, a face with tears of joy, a face with open mouth, a party popper, and the hundred points emoji. After reacting to a status update, the reaction aka emoji will display as a status reply within the chat. The functionality is not yet available for beta testers
In addition, WhatsApp is releasing an updated gallery view for its Windows desktop app beta, which was just published on the Microsoft Store last week. The revamped gallery view, which is quite reliable to use, is indeed very similar to the one introduced on WhatsApp Desktop

In addition, WhatsApp is releasing an updated gallery view for its Windows desktop app beta. This feature publishes on the Microsoft Store last week. The revamped gallery view, which is quite reliable to use, is indeed very similar to the one introduced on WhatsApp Desktop (the Electron version of the app), as you can see in the screenshot below.
Also, WhatsApp users can now use any emoji as a reaction. The company is also working on voice notes for status updates and other features.
